Rare Gemkin
These Ti'rhyn are distinctly recognisable as subspecies. Their forms are each seemingly directly association with their Gemkin. Their markings may be simple or intricate but their forms are always remarkably different from the
Semi-Precious and
Precious Gemkin types.
Rare Gemkin Abilities are many and vary greatly between Gemkin.
Angelus Lepus Draconis Opal (Go'rhyn)These Ti'rhyn are recognisable even in the hatchling stage due to a mystical glimmering ring of light that encircles their head. As they age to kid they begin to develop beautiful feathered wings with which they can glide short distances. These, however, do not fully form to a size that allows flight until they reach the age of maturity.
The Angelus Lepus Draconis are well known for their gentle amiable nature and their love for beautiful things. Though the lore among Gian cultures is that their tears heal and this may well be true, it is now known that any touch from a Go'rhyn will heal. The working theory of how this is possible considers some link between the obvious gleam of electromagnetic energy forming their corona and the affect they have on damaged organic materials but the specifics are still unknown.
Demonus Lepus Draconis Obsidian (Ka'rhyn)This sub-species bears a striking set of features. Their hatchling stage reveals only a spaded tail but as they evolve to kid their sleek veined membrane wings begin to grow. As a kid they can only use them to glide short distances but upon reaching the age of maturity, these wings will be of a size that enables them to properly fly. Fierce and wilful, they are mostly still a mystery as they are predominantly nocturnal and difficult to observe.
One thing we do know is the Ka’rhyn can communicate via limited telepathy with their bonded Keepers. This telepathy is interpreted by Keepers as a direct transmission of sensory input from the Ka'rhyn. Most often the Keeper will receive a visual of what the ‘rhyn is seeing but they also can receive sounds, sensations and even smells. Usually some subtle form of emotion is also transmitted at the same time. The range and intensity of this bond varies between each Keeper and Ka'rhyn pair but unless the Keeper themselves have well developed telepathic abilities this strictly a one-sided conversation.
Unicornis Lepus Draconis Tanzanite (Le'rhyn)The Unicornis Ti'rhyn are recognisable immediately upon hatching due to the fact that their bear only a single horn, a soft mane of hairfur and a tufted tail tip. These Lepus Draconis are very shy and secretive and solitary, keeping to themselves except perhaps on misty mornings or rainy evenings which is when sightings of them are most often reported. The Le’rhyn have the ability to purify diseases and poisons from the environment.
In extension to this once a Le'rhyn has seen more than one season (usually after three) they begin to develop a fondness for a certain tree or patch of foliage and will thereafter make their warren therein. The trees and foliage patches claimed so by a Le'rhyn are affected by their presence in a spectacular way; maintaining a perpetual state of blossoming and fruition even through the winter season when the Day Star is dimmest. The nature of this affect is unknown but theorized as being connected to the ultraviolet glow that develops around the eyes and horn of a Le'rhyn as they age.
Faierus Lepus Draconis Hematite (Pu'rhyn)What wylde childes these? The Faierus have much longer and more slender horns and ears and as they grow develop their own unique wings; iridescent translucent butterfly type wings. Akin to the other winged sub-species, they are not able to fly until reaching the age of maturity but can use their adolescent wings to glide short distances. Pu'rhyn often choose homes higher up in trees rather than in the root networks beneath them. This sub-species is known for it's super-keen hearing and amazing vocalizations.
The song-birds of the Lepus Draconis, they apply their voices not only to the expression and celebration of emotions and important life events in the life of the Ti'rhyn but also to communicate with the avian folk of the Ever Forest where they live. Their hearing has been discovered to be sensitive even to ultrasonic ranges which it is now believed they are able to vocalise as well. Due to this it seems as well as their love of flight and heights, the birds and flying insects of the wilds are quick to come to the call of any Pu'rhyn. Some individual Pu'rhyn have been observed making music in ways other than with their voices but this is believed to be very rare occurrence. In addition a theory is developing that attributes some connection between Gemkin gathering and the songs of the Pu'rhyn but thus far this theory is unconfirmed.
*Loricus Lepus Draconis Turquoise (Jy'rhyn)When the Loricus Ti'rhyn first hatch they are seemingly mundane. Upon evolving to kid stage their true nature is revealed. Their scale patches begin to change, becoming thicker and larger until, by the time they have reached the age of maturity they have a fully formed exo-skeleton which is secondary to their inner skeleton. The armoring is always the colour of their gemkin, ranging from bright and vivid green to calm and soothing blue. They are stunningly beautiful and of a very calm temper usually despite their warrior-like nature.
Jy’rhyn have the ability to use what native Gians refer to as 'Jy-force'. They are able to use this force or energy to affect their strength, toughness and dexterity. Individual Jy'rhyn have been known to use this energy in remarkable ways; to 'push' their way into a higher/longer leap or to 'pull' an opponent off of their feet; these advanced uses of the Jy have only been demonstrated by elder (3 seasons and older) Jy'rhyn so it is assumed that age brings with it mastery of this Gift of the Loricus.
**Tellus Lepus Draconis Chrysocolla (Ma'rhyn)Notably larger (though proportionally identical) to the general Ti'rhyn Species; Tellus T'rhyn are most markedly different in that they bear branching antlers rather than sleek horns. The Tellus Lepus Draconis inner skeletal structure bears tectonic spurs which rise and pierce through to emerge as actual spikes that run the length of the spine during the evolution from Kid to Adult. Akin to the Loricus or Ja'rhyn, these spikes are always of a tone and hue that matches their Gemkin. Last but not least one may note; their ears are not only lopped but also much shorter and more broad than those of most other Ti'rhyn Species.
The Ma’rhyn are gifted with the ability to release calming pheromones. Each individual has a unique scent which is released from glands just behind their ears and quickly spread on the wind. When other sub-species of Ti'rhyn inhale the pheromones, they will almost immediately begin to feel calmed. Furthermore, the pheromone has a clearing effect on the minds of many Ti'rhyn, often allowing them to become more focused and aiding their memories and cognitive functions.
